XEIKON DIGITAL PRESSES BENEFIT FROM
HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY AND UPTIME

OmniVac Reduces Maintenance Time with Nearly 50%.

Wood Dale (November 19, 2002) — Xeikon, the world’s leading provider of digital color production systems, introduces the Xeikon OmniVac. OmniVac is an Advanced Internal Air Treatment System that automatically removes toner dust from the corona wires and collects it into a central filter. OmniVac helps maintain high print quality, image consistency and reduces operator maintenance time with nearly 50%.

Reduced maintenance time and extended lifetime of parts

In addition, OmniVac increases engine uptime and system productivity by extending the lifetime of critical parts of the imaging system such as corona wires, cleaning units and OPC drums. OmniVac reduces total cost of operation and improves operator efficiency, resulting in a return on investment of around 12 months, based on average print volumes.

Says Dirk Van Thillo, Xeikon International Director of Marketing: “Xeikon already offers the fastest digital color presses (8,280 8.5”x11” pages per hour) with the most powerful digital front-ends. With OmniVac, we also set a new industry standard for engine uptime.”

“OmniVac simply makes our operators’ jobs easier,” says Paul Vanderick, Head of Color Digital Printing with Bank BBL (ING) in Brussels. ”We produce about 400,000 pages per month on our Xeikon DCP 500 D. OmniVac, which has been installed for several months now, helps us achieve our critical turnaround and quality requirements. For example, each quarter, in just four days, we print a 250,000 page job containing fully personalized financial information for our private banking division.”
