Xeikon America customers install additional presses
Successful applications increase need for print capacity

Chicago (October 7, 2002) — Xeikon, the world’s leading provider of digital color production systems, announced today that several of its customers are installing additional presses. The need for more print capacity is a result of the growing success of digital print applications such as 1:1 marketing campaigns, point-of-purchase signs, book covers, labels and packaging.

“We are thrilled with our customers’ success and with the renewed confidence they are showing in Xeikon by ordering additional presses,” says Ivan Verheye, President and CEO of Xeikon America, Inc.  “Several markets and applications benefit from the unique features of the Xeikon presses, such as the 18.7” printing width, the high speed of 138 PPM and the One-Pass Duplex printing capability, or the robust front-end with powerful variable data capabilities.”

Some recent installations:

Fenske Media Corporation has been a Xeikon user since 1998 and prints high volume full-color intense variable data direct mail campaigns on its Xeikon presses. This information services provider from Rapid City, South Dakota recently installed its third DCP 500 D to keep up with increased customer demands in the financial services and insurance industries they serve nationwide.

Integra Color, a commercial printer from Mesquite, Texas purchased a DCP 500 SP paperboard press at the end of 2000 to produce point-of-purchase signs. The growing demand for digitally printed POP signs from several major food and beverage customers and the need to increase print capabilities, resulted in the purchase of two additional presses, DCP 500 D's, earlier this year.

The worlds leading electronic voting system supplier, Diebold Election Systems recently installed yet another Xeikon digital press to further enhance their election ballot printing capabilities. The presses will be used to produce optical scan voting ballots for counties throughout the country.
